It's Halloween this week!!

Our first Halloween in Washington!  Believe it or not, we had a 2-hour window where it didn't rain and we got our trick or treating in, completely dry!

The boys were invited to trick or treat with friends in a nearby neighborhood.  Carter went with Spencer, and he was the killer ghost from the movie "Scream".

*SIGH*   I remember when he was cute things.  Now he is all about the scary.

Kyle went with his friend Cole, and they were ketchup and mustard!  HA HA!!  It was hilarious!

I am sorry this one is so small... but you get the idea!

The boys also carved their own pumpkins this year and they were very proud of their work, and so were we!

We are moving on to November next!!  We miss you!

This week is October 21st

So Steve and I hosted our first ever Halloween party!!  It had been suggested that we might host a party and we got a great response!  In fact, after we suggested it, it was requested that make sure we made good on it!

It was so fun!  Our theme was "A Massacre at the Oscars".  We had all kinds of great costumes come through the door!  There were both movie and TV personalities, as well as a director, some vampires a photographer from TMZ and Michael Jackson!!

DJ Jazzy Steve put together 8 hours of music so we could dance the night away.  It was an adults only party so we were able to dress up, drink, dance and there weren't any kids there to make fun of it!  It was awesome!!

We got together with our friends next door and come up with some ideas to do together.  Keri and I were Bat Girl and then Robin Girl (or Robinette?  not sure what her real name was) while Steve was Goose and Patrick was Maverick.  Steve, keeping with the Halloween theme, was "dead" Goose and he was bloody and covered in seaweed.

We had a wonderful time and we were so happy that we had so many great friends to celebrate with!

This was our best costume winner, Austin Powers!  (aka, our friend, Luke)

I hope you had as much fun as we did this year!!  This has now been deemed an annual tradition.  I say next year's theme should be "Vampire Night Club"!

This week is October 14th

This was a totally awesome week for Steve and I!

We went to the Seahawks/Patriots game!  It was sooooo cool.   Frankly, the fact that they won made it even cooler!

We got to go down onto the field before the game started and watch all the players warm up.  It was Steve's dream come true to boo Tom Brady in person.  And Bill B...  BOOOOOOO

This one below is the coach, Pete Carroll, but it is kind of far away.....

A bunch of the Seahawks players ran by the crowd and I got to high five them all!  It was freaking awesome!

OMG!  That Gronkowski is a large GIANT man... He is like 9 feet tall....

Steve spent the rest of the game yelling at the top if lungs.... "Suck it, Tom Brady!!"  He was in heaven.  We booed him and his hair!!

I suppose I should also mention it was our 14th anniversary as well!  HA HA!  We went to dinner at a restaurant in Redmond called The Matador.  Since it is also a tequila bar, children aren't allowed and it is 21 and over only. It was such a nice dinner and we laughed about how much can change in a year!!

Next year is our trip to Hawaii for our 15-year anniversary!  We can't wait... it is going to be super fun!

Have a great week everybody!

This week is October 7th

Hey everyone!  It is finally October on the blog!

Carter did a fun run for school called the Pumpkin Race.  They ran a mile around the high school track and around the baseball fields.  He didn't give up and came in somewhere in the middle of the pack.  Way to go, Carter!

Kyle is now playing the saxophone!  The 6th grade has a band and Kyle chose the sax.  I am pretty sure his love of the song "Baker Street" by Jerry Rafferty was some influence.  He knows 4 notes so far and he seems to really enjoy it!

I cannot remember if I had mentioned in my blog that Carter is learning piano.  He started taking piano lessons in May and is doing really well.  He likes to play by ear so getting him to read notes  was a bit of a struggle!

All we need now is a tambourine, bell bottoms and a big bus!!

Have a great week!
